Tom Holland Has 20 Costumes For Spider-Man: Homecoming

New Spidey Tom Holland may have almost a month’s supply of red and blue costumes for upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, but it’s mainly because he keeps ripping them.

When the newest face to join the Marvel hero ranks visited a children’s hospital - which is something he also did last month and will no doubt do many times in the future - the young star was asked during a radio interview just how many Spidey suits he had.

“I break them quite a lot because I have to do a lot of stunts – flips and stuff – so they rip… We have like 20 suits, I think, that we alternate, and this is actually what we would call a beauty suit, which means it is like picture ready, and then we have a stunt suit, which isn’t as nice as this one.”

So it seems the Brit actor is going through quite a lot of film outfits and we’re sure the number will rise dramatically, especially if he’s ripping them during some of the no doubt spectacular action sequences.

Holland, 19, still can’t quite believe he’s the new Spider-Man and can’t be more proud of what he’s achieved so far.

”I love what I do so much, when I’m on set I’m not thinking what the audience will think of the scene; I’m just thinking of how I can make it best and how I can enjoy myself most. It’s such a great process, being on the film set surrounded by fantastic people and I’m lucky because I feel like I’ve worked with the best of the best!”

When asked about the role, Tom didn’t hold back with exactly what it meant to him: “What 19-year-old is like ‘Nah I’ll pass, I’ll just stay at home’?! Spider-Man has been such a huge part of my life!”

At such a young age Holland will still be fully aware about the pressure to deliver a good Spider-Man movie, but with the backing of Marvel and Disney, there’s a very strong chance we could see the best incarnation of the character to date.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is on UK cinemas from 7 July, 2017.
