Social media is ragging on Tom Brady for being “out of shape” after swimsuit-clad photos of the NFL star with wife Gisele Bundchen hit the internet.

Brady and Bundchen are currently in Costa Rica with their three children Vivian, 5, Benjamin, 8, and Jack, 10 (the latter of whom is the son of actress Bridget Moynahan), where they own a home. The spot is special for the couple, who held their second wedding ceremony on the island in 2009, after officially tying the knot in Santa Monica, California.

On Tuesday, Twitter had feedback on a photo of the couple kissing on the beach which showed Brady in green swim trunks and Gisele in a black, string bikini. One Twitter user wrote, “Wait. This is Brady’s body. That looks like my body. Not expecting my superhero to look like me.” Another added, “Very pliable.”

On Instagram, people weren’t any kinder. One person wrote (translated from Portuguese), “[Men] can be relaxed with the body [but] nobody says anything. If it were Gisele out of shape they would already be throwing stones at her.” Another person wrote, “Looks like man boobs to me! Lol.” Someone else added, This photo makes me [doubt] the TB12 diet” of Brady’s holistic vegan meal plan.

Even TMZ chimed in: “Tom Brady & Gisele are a sun-kissed couple and he proves you don’t have to be ripped to shreds to be the G.O.A.T.”

Male body shaming is rare, but it does happen — in March, when The New Yorker ran an article called “The Great Sadness of Ben Affleck” along with a shirtless photo of the actor, social media ruthlessly mocked him for his weight. Afterward, Affleck responded by tweeting, “I’m doing just fine. Thick skin bolstered by garish tattoos.”

And last year, when Kristin Cavallari shared Mexican vacation photos of her and husband Jay Cutler, a quarterback for the Chicago Bears, social media accused him of looking “flabby” and sporting “man boobs.”

Brady is accustomed to the haters — the star, who loves avocado ice cream, recently told GQ, ‘I was the kid that was the 199th pick that never had the body for it. People didn’t think I’d play one year in the NFL, and now I’m going on my 17th year.” And he’s been picked on for his clothing, his hairstyle, even how he expresses affection for his kids.

Still, with a supermodel wife, three adorable children, and a cool $14 million in his pocket, having sold his New York City penthouse on Tuesday, what’re a few extra pounds?
