'Today' Fans 'Have Chills' After Hoda Kotb Shares Personal News With Jenna Bush Hager

On Monday morning, Today’s fourth hour kicked off with a quick rundown of the latest news. One of the highlights called out the beginning of “cuffing season” in October, which is defined by Merriam Webster as "a period of time where single people begin looking for short term partnerships to pass the colder months of the year." This transpired into a conversation about ditching dating apps and leaning on loved ones to help find a match. And when Hoda announced that she's willing to have Jenna set her up on a blind date, Jenna couldn't contain her excitement.

“OK I want to be set up,” Hoda said on the show. “What?!” Jenna replied. “Wow, I have chills! That is a challenge that I am going to go for.”

As viewers know, Hoda announced back in January that she and her former fiancé Joel Schiffman had called off their engagement. After an eight-year-long relationship, the two revealed that they would remain friends and co-parent their daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine, together.

The I Really Needed This Today author went on to explain that she feels secure letting Jenna set her up because of their years of friendship. “Because you know me and I trust you,” she told Jenna. “If you didn’t know me … if we were anchoring and pretending, then I wouldn’t say yes. But you do know me.”

Unsurprisingly, Jenna wasn’t alone in her shock and excitement over the personal news. Many Today fans immediately took to the show’s official Instagram comments section with their thoughts. “YES!! I have chills too … GO JBH!! #Find❤️ForHoda,” one person wrote. “Love this!! Find her someone wonderful Jenn ❤️❤️❤️,” another added. “You got this Jenna! I’m proud of you Hoda! You go ladies! ❤️🔥,” a different fan said.

So, who will Jenna pick for Hoda? We’ll have to wait to potentially hear about it on the Today show. But whoever it is, the broadcast journalist believes they’ll get a complete, whole version of her.

"I've had past loves, and I feel like I'll have future loves," Hoda told People in August. "Once you know who you are all the way, then love can come in. You know how people say the older you get, the more you know who you are? I think someone who meets me now will meet me for real."
