Yahoo Movies TNT renews Animal Kingdom for sixth and final season

The Cody family isn't done wreaking havoc quite yet.
On Thursday, TNT announced that it has renewed its popular crime drama Animal Kingdom for a sixth and final season. The news comes before the show airs its fifth season, which will premiere this summer.
Animal Kingdom stars Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, and Finn Cole as members of the Cody crime family. And in the upcoming fifth season, Pope (Hatosy), Craig (Robson), Deran (Weary), and J (Cole) will be dealing with the fallout surrounding the death of family matriarch Smurf (Ellen Barkin), which will include family members wanting revenge. Without a leader, they'll struggle to figure out how to move forward.
The season will also feature a young Smurf (Leila George) back in 1984 forging her own path as she raises Pope and Julia.
