It’s time to sign up for this year’s 24 Hours of Booty event on the Booty Loop in Charlotte

It’s time, Charlotte: Registration is now open for 2023’s 24 Hours of Booty cycling and walking event.

The charity non-competitive bicycling and walking event is open to all ages and activity levels. In fact, riders and walkers can set their own mileage goals and get on and off the course as often as they would like over the 24 hours.

Here are the details:

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday, July 28 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 29.

WHERE: You know this already — on the Booty Loop in Charlotte’s Myers Park neighborhood.

If you’re new to town, the Booty Loop is a popular 2.85-mile route in the Myers Park neighborhood. It’s used by cyclists, runners, and walkers. In the 1990s, it was named by a group of male cyclists “with a lighthearted appreciation for the ‘fitness levels’ of women exercising in the area,” CharlotteFive previously reported.

REGISTER: Individually or with a team online at 24foundation.org. Registration and fundraising requirements:

  • Adult Riders/Walker (18 and older): Pay a $75 registration fee and raise a minimum of $400;

  • Youth Riders/Walkers (ages 12-17): Pay a $75 registration fee and raise a minimum of $200;

  • Child Riders (ages 8-11) and Walkers (ages 4-11): Pay a $50 registration fee and raise a minimum of $50; or

  • Virtual “UnLooped” registration is $45 for adults and $25 for children (11 and under); no fundraising minimum.

Children ages 8-11 can ride during the Survivor Lap from 12-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PERKS AND SWAG (for in-person participants):

  • Online fundraising tools;

  • Access to templates and fundraising ideas;

  • Fundraising level incentives;

  • An event T-shirt;

  • Full bike and medical support;

  • Entertainment; and

  • Meals, snacks and drinks throughout the event.

BOOTYVILLE (EVENT HQ): Where participants can relax, eat and camp while not riding:

  • Myers Park Traditional School

  • Queens University of Charlotte.

This year’s 24 Hours of Booty is presented by Levine Cancer Institute. “Participating in 24 Hours of Booty as a participant, volunteer or sponsor is an incredible way to show up for our cancer community and change the course of cancer,” said Katherine Murphy, executive director of 24 Foundation. “We are excited to bring everyone together again this summer to ride, stride, and enjoy a celebration of hope, healing and connecting.”
