Popular TikTok star quits app over 'extremely toxic' users and harassment: 'Can't take it anymore'

Tatyanna Mitchell, who goes by Tati Mitch on TikTok, announced she’s leaving the app for good after opening up about how it’s become “toxic” to her.

She became one of TikTok’s brightest stars over the summer and is known for hilariously responding to other people’s point-of-view-style videos.

Though she now boasts a whopping 4.2 million followers on the app, she’s also been facing quite a bit of fan criticism lately — especially after she was accused of attending a party with other TikTok stars and violating social distancing rules amid the pandemic.

In a statement she posted to her Snapchat story and later shared by TikTokRoom on Instagram, Mitch revealed she has been struggling with bullying and harassment on TikTok.

“I love all of my loyal supporters, but the amount of hate TikTokers received is unbelievable. Literally affects our mental health so bad,” she wrote. “I’ll be moving my platform over to my YouTube channel where I’ll be posting every week. TikTok is extremely toxic I literally can’t take it anymore.”

Fans took to Instagram to express both excitement and disappointment over her decision to leave.

“Good for her. TikTok is so toxic,” one user wrote.

“She think she gon go on youtube and the hate gon disappear,” another said.

“It’s because people started calling her out for not social distancing she’s guilt-tripping,” a third wrote.

Mitch’s move off TikTok also follows a public spat with Devin Caherly, a fellow creator who she originally flirted with as a joke, but now fans aren’t so sure.

They both individually addressed various cheating rumors and accusations against each other on TikTok, and fans are unsure where their true relationship ends and their jokes about it begin.

“okay i don’t know if ppl know what i’m talking about but the Tati and Devin drama confuses the s***out of me like i’m pretty sure they are just doing it for attention but i just have no clue what the f** is going on,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Always playing the victim,” Mitch commented on Caherly’s latest video accusing her of lying about allegations of cheating and mistreatment.

Commenters are growing weary of the drama.

“The tea is getting old … make up and get married already,” one user wrote.

“I’m genuinely confused about everything that’s happening,” another said.

Here’s hoping we get some clarity on the situation after Mitch has had some time away from the app.
