Cucumbers have numerous skin benefits. They can reduce puffiness and acne, soothe irritation, hydrate and provide antioxidants. Meanwhile, facial icing can reduce oiliness, swelling and wrinkles. So as you can see, combining the two things isn’t exactly a bad idea. Wellness TikToker Alexa Rae Loebel is a huge proponent of this frozen cucumber hack with multiple videos on the subject.

“Not only does it feel amazing first thing in the morning,” Loebel said, “but there are so many benefits for frozen cucumber, icing your face in general. Your makeup will go on flawlessly and you’ll have fresh, glowy skin.”

Loebel claimed it, “reduces redness, helps with acne, scarring, irritation, puffiness [and] moisturizing.”

All you have to do is rub the frozen cucumber on your face after cleansing, gently rinse off, then complete your regular skincare routine. Loebel is just one of numerous TikTokers using the method. The hashtag #FrozenCucumberHack has over 12.5 million views.

The user @emmafreece documented ten days of icing her face with cucumber and sang its praises.

“I have been loving it still,” she said. “My cheeks are still looking really good. It’s helping with my redness.”

TikToker @ajoyce408 gave the hack a try to help tackle her eczema.

“Normally, right after the shower, I’ll put on lotion right away or like a toner,” she said. “But this feels so moisturizing that I feel like I don’t need to. It smells so good.”
