Thunderstorms Bring Lightning and Heavy Rain to Scotland

Thunderstorms brought lightning and heavy rain to parts of Scotland on Sunday, August 14, with the Met Office issuing a yellow thunderstorm warning.

Slow motion video filmed by Graeme Cunningham on Sunday night shows forked lightning above Fauldhouse, a village in West Lothian.

A band of northeastward moving heavy showers and thunderstorms continued to affect southern and eastern Scotland on Monday morning, causing difficult driving conditions during the morning rush hour, the Met Office said. Credit: Graeme Cunningham via Storyful
