This Morning star Dr Zoe Williams has announced she is pregnant for the first time – fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor and a mum.

Dr Zoe regularly appears on the ITV daytime show to give her medical opinion and offer advice, and now she’s announced the happy news that she’ll have a maternity leave coming up.

She is expecting her first child at 40 years old with partner Stuart McKay, and told Hello! magazine that she would never have believed two years ago that this would be her life now.

Dr Zoe said: "There are two big ambitions I always had in life – one was to be a doctor and the other was to be a mother.”

She added: "If I could go back two years and speak to myself and say that by January 2021 you will have met the love of your life, be pregnant and you’ll have spent most of the year in lockdown I would have said you are having a laugh!"

Although Dr Zoe is very familiar with antenatal appointments from her medical background, she said she was just as excited as any other first-time mum when going for her scan and seeing her baby.

She explained that she had been so keen to have a baby that she was considering doing it on her own by using a sperm bank, but happened to meet McKay in a bar in Portugal in September 2019.

Their relationship took off quickly with Dr Zoe telling him early on that she had been considering becoming a single mum.

She said: “So on our third or fourth date I told him I needed to know what his intentions were if our relationship worked out."

Luckily, McKay said that he was on the same page and the couple are now looking forward to meeting their baby in the summer.
