This 'Hotel Transylvania 2' Scene Is 'Adorable Not Scary' (Exclusive)

Featuring Adam Sandler reprising his role as a funny and lovable Dracula, Hotel Transylvania 2 debuted at No. 1 when it came out a month ago. And now that Halloween week is upon us, let’s revisit the animated hit. (Yes, it’s still in theaters!)

In the above exclusive extended clip, introduced by Transylvania star Andy Samberg, Dracula sets out to show his new half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, how the old-timers do their spooking. First up is Frank (short for Frankenstein, voiced by Kevin James), who fails in his attempt to freak out a couple of lady joggers, instead posing for a selfie with them. Werewolf Wayne (Steve Buscemi) is too rusty to take down a prospective victim — a deer. Murray the mummy (Keegan-Michael Key) throws out his back as he tries to conjure a sandstorm, adding up to an overall unsuccessful lesson on how to be a monster.

The animated feature takes place seven years after the first film. Now that Drac’s daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), is married to her human paramour, Johnny (Samberg), Drac resorts to drastic measures to make sure the couple raise their young son in Transylvania instead of taking him away to California to be with Johnny’s human family.

Incidentally, you can get your own little monster in to see Hotel Transylvania 2 on Halloween: Buy one adult ticket and be treated to one kid’s ticket on Oct. 31.
