'I think it’s a little bit of truth in our criticism': Shaquille O'Neal responds to Kevin Durant over player salaries

Shaquille O'Neal and Kevin Durant's internet beef continues this week as the two exchanged more comments about how much money current NBA players are making.

On an episode of 'The Big Podcast', O'Neal shared that there is truth to the criticism former players have towards the contracts of today's generation of players compared to what players were making years ago.

“You think I’m happy Rudy Gobert is making $250 million," O'Neal said. "God damn right we mad, we get petty…I think it’s a little bit of truth in our criticism.”

In response, the current Brooklyn Nets star snapped back on Twitter, writing "Shaquille is hilarious. You’re a billionaire bro lol."

O'Neal, who has become a media personality and businessman since playing in the league, responded with an equally snappy remark:

"i know i'm hillarious (sic), and i'm not a billionaire i'm actually broke. but will always speak facts. thank you saying i'm funny means a lot."

O'Neal made over $286 million over his nearly two-decade playing career while Gobert's contract extension before the 2021 season with the Utah Jazz was worth $205 million alone.
