These Marvel And Frozen Bionic Arms Turn Amputee Children Into Superheroes

A British based prosthetic limbs company has created movie-themed bionic arms that will turn children into their favourite superheroes.

Open Bionics, which is based in Bristol, have worked in collaboration with Marvel Universe, LucasFilm, and Disney to design and produce three sensationally cool bionic hands that have been inspired by ‘Iron Man’, ‘Frozen’ and ‘Star Wars.’

The ‘Iron Man’ hand looks as though it has come “hot out of Tony Stark’s workshop,” and its bright red exterior with touches of gold mean that it will instantly wow people of all ages when they see it.

Meanwhile, the ‘Frozen’ hand glistens with snowflakes against a sky blue background, but unfortunately doesn’t posses the ability to actually fire ice out of its fingertips.

And while the ‘Star Wars’ inspired hand comes with a much more serious, dark outer shell that immediately evokes Darth Vader, it is in fact an homage to the film’s legendary weapon, the Lightsaber.

Which is your favourite? In fact, it really doesn’t matter, because each of them are damn near perfect in their design and style.

With these creations the company are looking to turn “boring physical therapy” into “superhero training” for the children, while they’re hoping to boost the confidence of those who need these limbs with the bright designs and superhero inspiration.

In order to keep the cost of these purchases down, Open Bionics have used 3D printing to create them, while The Walt Disney Company, which owns the rights to all three pieces of artwork, have waved the fees, and simply donated their designs for free.

But this is only the beginning, because Open Bionics has promised that even more prosthetic, movie-themed limbs will be released in the near future too. Which surely means that it’s only a matter of time before the Infinity Gauntlet or a Hulk fist is created.
