Theresa May embarrassed a fellow Tory MP during today's (September 13) Prime Minister's Questions on live TV.

Somehow, conversation turned to the prime minister revealing that Mike Fabricant, the MP for Lichfield, was going to appear on the next series of Celebrity First Dates, dropping a joke while she was at it.

"I have noticed that my honourable friend is shortly to appear on a Channel 4 programme called Celebrity First Dates. What I'm not sure about is whether my honourable friend is the celebrity or the first date," May remarked.

Digital Spy has reached out to Channel 4 for comment.

For now, all we have is Fabricant replying to a Fred Sirieix GIF on Twitter with a cagey response: "I can neither confirm or deny…"

One person who won't be appearing on Celebrity First Dates is former X Factor rap star Honey G, AKA Anna Gilford, as she revealed that she feared homophobia after she came out as gay.

"I was a bit nervous about people being homophobic and people just not being very kind about it. Some people don't accept gay people in the same way as straight people. So it wasn't the right time during X Factor," she explained.

"Recently I was made an offer to do Celebrity First Dates, which I turned down, mainly because I didn't want to come out to the public in that way."

The regular First Dates returns to Channel 4 for its ninth series on Monday (September 18) at 10pm on Channel 4.
