The Worst Movie Posters of 2015 Revealed

Is this the worst movie poster of 2015?

The readers of IMP Awards certainly think so as they’ve voted this poster for Nick Love’s superhero film ‘American Hero’ as the worst of the last 12 months.

The site, which is an invaluable online resource for movie posters, had this to say about the Photoshop disaster:

“We’re guessing that constipated / confused was not the expression they were wanting to go for on Stephen Dorff’s face, but there it is. Not sure what they did with Eddie Griffin but it is seriously wrong. What is he looking at? Why is he smiling? Does he not notice the hail of bullets headed their way? Is he not worried about the lightning and the flying debris all around him? And as a final insult, check out those incredibly unrealistic flames on the house in the background. A total mess.”

The film hasn’t been released in the UK, and judging by the poster, it’s unlikely to ever see the light of day here unless it goes straight to DVD.

The other posters that were in contention in the public vote are included below with a quick line from the site about why they’re considered crimes against poster design.

‘Knock Knock’

“Add a cord around him so we know it’s not a romance. But after “50 Shades” people might still think it’s a romance. Toss in a big knife so we know something bad is going down, even if Keanu is blissfully unaware of it.”

‘The Voices’

“No idea what Reynolds is looking at and he either has an incredibly large hand or the rest of his body is a lot further away than it appears.”

‘The Forger’

“That may be John Travolta’s head. That might even be John Travolta’s body. But there is something terribly wrong with the way that head and body have been pasted together.”

‘Pay The Ghost’

“This Mexican design, featuring a badly cut out image of him standing in front of a bizarre mish-mash of creepy images just takes it to a whole new level of bad.”
