The Rock Is Officially The World’s Highest Paid Actor

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been named the world’s highest paid actor, and the internet savvy former WWE star wasted no time in sharing his success with his million and millions of fans.

According to Forbes’ annual list, which calculates how much celebrities have earned between June-to-June, Johnson amassed $64.5 million during this period, which left him at Number 19 overall on the FORBES Celebrity 100.

Johnson was obviously rather proud of himself for this triumph, and he not only posted a huge poster that celebrated his success to his Instagram account, but he wrote a lengthy diatribe about what it took for him to reach this level.

As part of his post, Johnson wrote, “Receiving news like this will always serve as my anchoring reminder to continue to work even harder. We not only want to ‘embrace the grind,’ but take the grind to new levels … Greatness is never achieved alone. Surround yourself with hungry, brilliant individuals who not only buy into your philosophy, but who are all willing to work just as hard as you. Power of teamwork.”

It’s no surprise that Dwayne Johnson finished top of the list. Over the last 12 months ‘Furious 7′, ‘San Andreas’ and ‘Central Intelligence’ have been released, while he’s also been hard at work on the impending ‘Moana’, ‘Fast 8′, and ‘Baywatch’, too. At the same time the second season of his HBO comedy ‘Ballers’ is also due to premiere at the end of this week.

Johnson’s closest acting competition on Forbes’ list came from Jackie Chan, who took in $61 million to finish 22, while Matt Damon was 31st with $55 million, Tom Cruise was joint 37th with $53 million, Johnny Depp was 46th with $48 million, Jennifer Lawrence was 49th with $46 million, Ben Affleck was 58th with $43 million, Jennifer Lopez was 68th with $39.5 million, Vin Diesel was 78th with $35 million, Robert Downey, Jr. was 86th with $33 million, and Brad Pitt took up the rear with $31.5 million, which left him 94th.
