Kansas State coach Bill Snyder didn’t get a win for his 78th birthday, but a gesture from Texas was a pretty nice consolation.
Before the Wildcats and Longhorns squared off Saturday night in Austin, UT head coach Tom Herman presented Snyder with a birthday card signed by the Texas team and coaches.
That’s pretty cool, especially since Snyder is known for sending kind handwritten notes to opposing players.
Snyder, who is in his 26th season as head coach at Kansas State, certainly would have preferred walking out of Darrell K. Royal Stadium with a win in addition to the card, but his Wildcats lost 40-34 in double-overtime.
Kansas State dropped to 3-2 (1-1 Big 12) with the loss with a bigger test around the corner with No. 6 TCU coming to town on Saturday.
