A teenager has been killed and a second hospitalised following a stabbing in north London, emergency responders have confirmed.

The Metropolitan Police said that three man had been attacked near White Hart Lane station in Tottenham shortly before 2pm on Monday.

A 19-year-old was treated by land and air ambulance crews but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers confirmed his family had been contacted following the incident.

A second man aged 18 was taken to hospital with stab wounds, while a third victim suffered minor injuries.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.47pm today to reports of a stabbing at White Hart Lane station, Tottenham.

"We sent two ambulance crews, three medics in cars and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"Sadly, despite the efforts of medics, a man died at the scene. A second man was treated and taken to a major trauma centre."
