Teen Vogue Summit is once again upon us. This year, we’re bringing together inspiring public figures, musicians, changemakers, and more to Los Angeles for important discussions and to celebrate Teen Vogue’s 20th birthday.
On November 18, Summit is headed to NYA Studios in Hollywood for a full day of keynote speakers and performances — along with plenty of photo opportunities, networking, food trucks, and more. Summit's goal is to bring people together for topical conversations and entertainment, all while helping attendees further themselves with headshots and resume-building. Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Versha Sharma will kick things off at 11 a.m. PST with opening remarks at the outdoor stage to get the day started.
This year, Teen Vogue is proud to host a slate of featured speakers including actor and musician Reneé Rapp; singer/ songwriter Coco Jones; actress, influencer, and activist Dylan Mulvaney; actor Ashley Tisdale; September’s cover star and model Aoki Lee Simmons; and entrepreneur and philanthropist Kimora Lee Simmons.
Both Jones and Rapp will have a Q&A session along with doing what they do best — putting on a performance.
Coach will be adding style to the event with their immersive and interactive pop-up, Wear Your Shine: The Tour. The luxury fashion brand will display the latest items from the Shine Collection for guests to explore for themselves. The Coach team will also be offering customizable coffees throughout the day. And the best part? Coach’s on-site installation is the perfect backdrop to take that Instagram photo you’ll want to post on the timeline.
Teen Vogue is especially honored to host an important panel discussion called Know Your Rights: Ending Sex Discrimination At School, presented by the National Women's Law Center (NWLC). The panel will tackle the big topic of Title IX and how it extends beyond just gender equality in sports. The speakers will talk about the importance of the civil rights law that outlaws sex discrimination at schools, including protecting students from sexual violence, and how it has changed since the Trump presidency. As the country awaits President Biden to reverse the previous administrations’ erosion of Title IX, there are ways to advocate for yourself. The panel of experts will help attendees know their rights and how to advocate for themselves.
Speakers for the Know Your Rights panel will include actor and activist Amrit Kaur; Know Your IX Student Engagement Organizer, Tanaya Kollipara; and NWLC’s Director of Justice for Student Survivors, Shiwali Patel. The panel will be moderated by Teen Vogue’s features director, Brittney McNamara.
Keeping in theme with knowing your rights and how to stay an active member of the community, there will also be a panel called The Power of Your Vote: Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders, sponsored by The Body Shop. This discussion will focus on encouraging young people to vote and make their voices heard on issues that affect everyone. The panelists will include 17-year-old activist Genesis Butler; digital creator and founder of Gen Z Girl Gang, Deja Foxx; and environmental scientist and Indigenous researcher Nikita Kahpeaysewat. The panel will be hosted by Teen Vogue Contributing Editor Alyssa Hardy.
“Our generation is faced with big issues we didn’t create,” Foxx tells Teen Vogue. “But still we must live with them and are being tasked with fixing them. That’s exactly why we need youth not only as implementers but as strategists and decision-makers.”
Immediately following The Power of Your Vote panel, attendees can stay right where they are for another presentation about the future of AI. While the prospect of AI integrating into our everyday lives can seem foreign, the panel Dream Your Future with AI: How to Learn, Explore, and Shape the Future with Technology, sponsored by Microsoft, will uncover the varying ways AI will affect us.
The panelists include Advisor to Microsoft's Chief Technology Officer, Karmel Allison; Microsoft Researcher and AI Instructor, Ava Amini; and Allie K. Miller, AI Entrepreneur, Advisor, and Investor. The panel will be moderated by Teen Vogue Executive Editor, Danielle Kwateng.
For those who are interested in learning more about content creation, you’ll want to listen in on the panel discussion, How to Create Eye-Catching Content Across Every Platform, presented by Adobe Express. This conversation, moderated by Teen Vogue editor Shauna Beni-Haynes, will dive into the intricacies of being an online creator and how to best evolve with each platform. The panelists, Girlbosstown creator Robyn DelMonte, and Adobe Express content strategist Mallory Shoemaker, will talk about how to level up your content creation game, and to stay fresh with ideas amongst the sea of trends.
And to add a little bit of fun into the mix, Teen Vogue Summit is happy to have BUXOM global celebrity make-up artist Ash K Holm for a special masterclass presented by BUXOM. Ash has become well-known for her glamourous and skin-glowing looks as seen on high-profile clients including Ariana Grande, the Kardashians, Shay Mitchell, Camila Cabello, Becky G, and more.
In between speakers and performances, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the rest of the studio space for photos, free swag, giveaways, food trucks, and more.
