A teenager stabbed to death in London was the cousin of another teen killed in the capital in 2019, police have confirmed.

A murder investigation has been launched after Ahmed Beker, 19, was fatally stabbed on Paddington Green in Westminster at 9.15pm on Friday.

Met Police Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance called to the incident where they found the teenager injured, but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene at 10pm.

Police have named him as Ahmed Beker, who lived in the area.

The Met Police has also confirmed that he was the cousin of another teenager murdered in the capital.

Yousef Beker was stabbed in the chest outside a KFC takeaway on Edgware Road, Westminster in September 2019.

Three teenagers were found guilty of killing him in September 2020.

The Met said homicide detectives from its Specialist Crime Command are investigating and want to hear from anyone who has images or video of the incident, or who witnessed events leading up to it.

The force said the public could expect to see "additional resources" in the area over the coming days.

No arrests have been made, the force said, and enquiries are continuing.

Friends have paid tribute to Ahmed Beker, who they said had been attacked outside Hall Tower — the block of flats next to where he died — just two months ago.

Mnayer Alenezi, 16, who knew the victim through friends, said: “He was a really good kid, always high-fiving people when he was out.

“Everyone just knew him like a local, you know.

“I haven’t seen him for over a year, so it was a bit of a shock, because he was one of the nice kids."
