Teen driver killed, two other teens injured in rollover crash in Antelope, CHP says

A teen driver was killed in a collision in the Antelope area of Sacramento County on Wednesday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to reports of a crash on Antelope Road, east of Antelope North Road, shortly after 9 p.m., said Officer Justin Fetterly, spokesman for CHP North Sacramento.

A Chevrolet sedan traveling westbound on Antelope Road changed lanes for “unknown reasons,” hitting a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling in the same direction, Fetterly said.

The driver of the sedan lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled over and came to a stop after hitting a power pole, he said.

All three occupants of the sedan were transported to a local area hospital for moderate to major injuries, CHP officials said. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured, Fetterly said, and drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash.

The identity of the deceased driver will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of family.
