Team of Sacramento high schoolers aims for the stratosphere with 'Space4Girls'

Students at West Lake Charter High School in Sacramento are getting ready to send a weather balloon that they designed into the stratosphere. The nonprofit Space4Girls provided the school with a 12-week, hands-on lesson plan where students get to create their own experiments, work with a 3D printer to create the capsule and even monitor the weather to ensure good conditions on launch day. The goal is to introduce more girls to STEM opportunities and potential careers.
