Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said on Wednesday that the company's aim is cooperation with Japan's Nissan, not acquisition. The struggling Japanese automaker is again at a crossroads after backing out of negotiations with bigger rival Honda last week to create the world's No. 3 automaker, a deal that would have been the latest major change in the shifting global car industry. A source told Reuters that Nissan is open to working with Taiwan's Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker and Apple's main iPhone maker.

American teacher Marc Fogel freed from Russia, White House says
American Marc Fogel, who has been held in Russia since being arrested on drug charges in 2021, was freed on Tuesday, according to the White House. "President Trump, Steve Witkoff and the President's advisors negotiated an exchange that serves as a show of good faith from the Russians and a sign we are moving in the right direction to end the brutal and terrible war in Ukraine," White House national security adviser Mike Waltz said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon. A White House official confirmed with ABC News that Fogel landed on United States soil at approximately 9:30 p.m. and was on his way to the White House.
