Taylor Swift Joins TikTok, Recreates Past Album Era Looks

Taylor Swift is officially on TikTok, and her first video has her recreating album era looks — and announcing that Red (Taylor's Version) will come out on vinyl on November 19th.

She set her first-ever TikTok to UK rapper Dave's song “Screwface Capital,” which features the lyric: "Six figure discussions, dinners in public/My linen all tailored/My outstanding payments swift like Taylor." In the nine-second video, she mouthes the lyrics to the track and changes her appearance to match folklore, evermore, Fearless (Taylor's Version), and finally, Red (Taylor's Version), which comes complete with blonde blunt bangs and her signature red lip. “Lots going on at the moment,” she wrote. "Red (my version) vinyl is up for presale on my site and oh I’m on tiktok now let the games begin 😺."

Naturally, she's already gaining followers by the tens of thousands, and in less than half an hour had reached 80k followers. Surely more will come, since as TikTok noted in press release, the hashtag #swiftok has over 1 billion video views on 181k video creations. Her new TikTok bio hints at what's to come: “This is pretty much just a cat account,” it reads.

The news comes a few weeks after Taylor shared the full track list for Red (Taylor's Version). The album will contain a sprawling 30 songs, including collabs with Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers, Mark Foster of Foster the People, and Ed Sheeran. Until the album comes out in November, we'll be brainstorming the ways to turn that 10-minute version of “All Too Well” into 13 kinds of TikToks.
