Some Taylor Swift Fans Have a Very Specific Request for Her 1989 Re-Recording

Less than a week after Taylor Swift dropped her re-recording of her album Fearless, fans are already speculating on the next album she might record her own version of. And thanks to the pop star's appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, Swifties found some convincing clues that it could be her 2014 album, 1989.

Immediately following her interview, fans decoded all the possible Easter eggs and discovered hints — including the fact that Colbert introduced Swift by revealing she was joining "from the studio where she's been re-recording her albums." This, coupled with references to New York (as in "Welcome to New York") and to "Shake It Off," put fans on a trail leading to the possible "Taylor's version" of 1989.

And since a few of the songs on 1989 are widely believed to be about Harry Styles, who Swift dated from 2011 to 2013, some fans are hoping not just for a vault of songs about the "Watermelon Sugar" singer (à la Joe Jonas) — they're also holding hope for a possible collaboration between the two for Swift's re-recording.

Given that Swift and Styles were seen having a friendly reunion at the Grammys this year, the idea of a collaboration doesn't seem too out of the realm of possibility. We'll just have to wait and see.
