Taylor Swift and Blake Lively Dressed in Opposite Aesthetics for a Girls’ Night Out

Blake Lively was sunshine, Taylor Swift was midnight rain.

On September 16, the 36-year-old actor and the 33-year-old pop star were photographed out on the town in New York City. In photos shared by People, the friends could be seen leaving celebrity hot spot Zero Bond in mismatched aesthetics. Lively dressed herself in bright colors, pairing a pink-and-white tweed skirt with a graphic T-shirt and a mixed-denim shirt with colorful patchwork lining. She topped the eclectic look with patterned heels and a quilted denim Chanel purse.

Meanwhile, Swift rocked a nearly all-black ensemble, matching a black button-up cardigan with a dark gray pleated miniskirt and mahogany red calf-length boots. Both women wore their thick blonde hair down in loose waves, making them look more like sisters than longtime friends, though Swift once again rocked the single mini braid that has sent her fans back into detective mode. You can see the photos here.

Though they may not look like they’re dressed for the same place, both leaned heavily into their current tastes, with Lively taking her love of pastels and playful patterns to the ultimate extreme while Swift continues to be influenced by the New England prep-school uniform.

Looks aside, what do you think these two talked about? If Swift dished on what has really been going on with NFL tight end Travis Kelce or complained about the unsubstantiated rumors, the Gossip Girl star may have shared that her own fans were concerned about the state of her marriage to Ryan Reynolds because her husband didn’t make a joke out of her birthday on Instagram. Or maybe they already covered all that when they both wore blue looks to dinner with Reynolds, Zoë Kravitz, Channing Tatum, and Cara Delevingne earlier in the week.

Oh, to be a fly on that wall (or, more likely, a rat on that NYC street).
