Yahoo Movies Taskmaster star Daisy May Cooper addresses James Bond rumours
Taskmaster star Daisy May Cooper has addressed the rumours that she will play M in the next James Bond movie.
Last week The Sun reported that Cooper had been cast in the iconic role due to her close friendship with Bond script consultant Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
However, Cooper herself has denied any involvement in the franchise after winning a Comedy Performance prize at the Royal Television Society Awards on Tuesday (March 28) for Am I Being Unreasonable?.

While the This Country co-creator was unable to attend the awards ceremony in person, a winning speech was read out to audiences in her absence (via RadioTimes).
In the speech, Cooper addressed the theories that she had been cast in the new James Bond film saying: "I can't be there because I'm filming Bond... jokes, the only M I'll ever be is Mental."
At this stage it is still unclear who will play the character taking over from Judi Dench and her temporary replacement Ralph Fiennes, who took on the role when Dench's M died.

So far Aaron Taylor Johnson, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Jamie Dornan and Charles Dance have all been tipped to replace Daniel Craig as 007 after he stepped down from the role after 2021's No Time To Die.
Speaking of the persistent whispers that he will be playing the famous spy, Luther star Idris Elba previously said that playing James Bond is "not a goal for [his] career".
"I'm not gonna lie, every corner of the world I go – and I'm talking about different cultures – they always go: 'Bond!'" he said on The Shop podcast. "It is not a goal for my career. I don't think that, you know, playing Bond will satisfy some of my personal goals. It will definitely satisfy the will of a nation."
