'Tammy' Premiere Proves That Susan Sarandon Is Hollywood's Sexiest Grandma

Susan Sarandon plays a grandmother in the new comedy Tammy, but she’s also about to become one in real-life. At last night’s Tammy premiere in Hollywood, Sarandon, 67, brought along her pregnant daughter, 29-year-old actress Eva Amurri Martino and Eva’s husband Kyle Martino, to celebrate the new Melissa McCarthy comedy which opens on Wednesday. For her part, Sarandon looked as sultry as ever in a body-hugging crimson gown. So did she find dressing down to play Tammy’s silver-haired grandmother a challenge? “I always thought of myself as a character actor,” Sarandon told Yahoo Movies during a recent interview. “So when they called me about Tammy, I thought, ‘Well how old am I exactly supposed to be?’ Really, I’m not supposed to be that much older than I am but just having lived really hard and without a makeup and hair person… that’s kind of a stretch.” The Oscar-winning Sarandon proved ageless on the red carpet, which also featured turns from Tammy star Melissa McCarthy and producer Will Ferrell.

Sarandon’s daughter — a very pregnant Eva Amurri Martino — stepped out to support her mom. The actress, who has had roles in Californication and That’s My Boy, wore a skintight, super-bright, patterned minidress that showed off her baby bump. She topped the look with a hot pink clutch and strappy, white heels.

Sarandon will become a first-time grandmother this year, but you’d never guess from watching her walk the carpet. Who knew ping-pong was the secret to staying young?
