The latest trailer for Creed, a new sequel/spinoff of the Rocky franchise by Fruitvale Station writer-director Ryan Coogler, offers some details about its characters, and a gut-punch to fans of the long-running boxing franchise. Creed is meant to function as a generational torch-passing: Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), the underdog boxer at the center of six films, becomes the mentor of a fresh-faced young fighter named Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), who just so happens to be the son of Rock’s old pal/rival Apollo.
Three years ago, a YouTube video that showed three human-shaped aircrafts flying around New York City quickly went viral. The clip was actually part of a promotional stunt for the 2012 found-footage superhero flick Chronicle — and now, that film’s director, Josh Trank, is back with Fantastic Four, an adaptation of the beloved Marvel comic book. Yahoo Movies is the first to obtain the new, fiery footage of the sky-high Torch, a creation of the marketing agency Thinkmodo (you can watch the clip above).
