How Did 'Captain Phasma' Survive Starkiller Base? Marvel Will Answer 'Force Awakens' Burning Question

After “Who are Rey’s parents?” perhaps the biggest unanswered question from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is how Captain Phasma, the chromed-out stormtrooper commander, managed to get off Starkiller Base before the weaponized planet exploded. As you undoubtedly recall, Phasma was tossed into a trash compactor by Han Solo, Finn, and Chewbacca. Marvel, which previously devoted a one-off comic book to how C-3PO got his red arm, will show us the presumably harrowing details of her escape in Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi— Captain Phasma.

'Logan': How the Blockbuster Wolverine Film Matches Up With Marvel's Classic Comic Book (Spoilers!)

Wolverine continues to flex his considerable muscles at the box office, with Hugh Jackman’s X-Men swan song Logan already closing in on $300 million in global ticket sales in less than a week. As Marvel fans undoubtedly know, the film is very loosely based on Old Man Logan, an eight-issue 2008 miniseries by writer Mark Millar and artist Steven McNiven. The film distills the Old Man Logan story to its essence: Logan, long retired from crimefighting in a dystopian future bereft of fellow superheroes, embarks on a hazardous road trip with an old friend — a journey of self-discovery in which tragedy spurs a renewed sense of purpose.

'Rogue One': Sneak Peek at Art for Marvel's Comic Book — and the Scenes It Adds In

As previously announced, Marvel is set to launch a six-issue adaptation of the intergalactic smash Star Wars story and the comic book will include material that didn’t make the final cut of the film. Today, Marvel released initial interior artwork from the comic version, the first issue of which will hit newsstands on April 5. Here’s your first look at four pages worth of panels, illustrated by Emilio Laiso and Oscar Bazaldua, featuring familiar scenes from the film of Jyn Erso‘s escape from an Imperial penal colony, her meeting on Yavin 4 with Mon Mothma and Cassian Andor, her rendezvous with Saw Gerrera on Jedha, and her plea to Alliance leaders to go to Scarif to steal the Death Star plans — a scene that may be expanded from the film (more on that below).

A New Look at Latest 'Han Solo' Adventure

As we’ve noted before, despite what transpired at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Han Solo is anything but dead. Sure, the old guy might have been Kylo Renned, toppled into a nigh bottomless chasm, and consumed by a supernova-powered explosion, but his younger self is alive and adventuring. Here's a new peek at Marvel's Han Solo No. 1, coming out next month.
