Sylvester Stallone Is Slammed For Creed Golden Globes Speech Snub

Sylvester Stallone has come under heavy criticism for failing to thank either his co-star or his director in accepting his Golden Globe for best supporting actor for ‘Creed’ last night.

Neither Michael B. Jordan, who has been praised for his lead role in the movie, or Ryan Coogler were credited during the speech, though he thanked others.

Many African-American stars blasted him on social media, including Ava DuVernay, director of Martin Luther King biopic 'Selma’.

“Well. I’m gonna go ahead and thank RYAN COOGLER + MICHAEL B. JORDAN since no one else is. Thank you, brothers. Good work. #smh #goldenglobes” she wrote.

Samuel L. Jackson also joined in, adding: “#waitwaitwait, Ryan Coogler & Michael B Jordan, Thanks for acting with me!!! Loved Sly but…”

According to reports, however, Stallone returned to the stage during the commercial break in the broadcast, after accepting the award, and thanked Coogler and Jordan.

Jackson later back-tracked saying: “General consensus… Caught up in the moment. I’m good with that, ok?! Off camera thanks, works!”

Sly could be looking at an Oscar nomination too for reprising role as Rocky Balboa in 'Creed’, which sees his ex-slugger training the son (played by Jordan) of his late friend and fellow boxer Apollo Creed.
