Everyone knows awards season is cringe season - and that's even before you throw the virtual element into the mix. Despite this year's Golden Globes looking very different from years gone by, it was still a memorable affair. The Crown cleaned up, Chadwick Boseman won posthumously for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Chloe Zhao made history, and so many celebs pulled out their fashion A-game.

But, with it being a live broadcast and celebs being celebs, there were also plenty of unscripted hiccups. From the technical glitches to the Jason Sudeikis memes, here are nine awkward moments you might have missed.

When Daniel Kaluuya delivered his acceptance speech while on mute

Winning your first Golden Globe is supposed to be a big, huge, monumental moment, but not for poor Daniel Kaluuya. There was radio silence when the actor accepted his award for best supporting actor in a motion picture for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah. "You did me dirty," he joked after the sound finally started to work.

Jason Sudeikis opting for full comfort

Is Jason Sudeikis the first person to ever accept a Golden Globe award wearing a hoodie? A tie-dye hoodie no less? We think yes. And Twitter was here for it. He later explained the hoodie was from his sister Kristin's fashion brand.

When Tracey Morgan said 'Sawl' instead of 'Soul'

'Sawl' anyone?

Regina King's dog stealing the show

The actor's dog was one of the best things about the Globes, especially when it did this:

Catherine O'Hara's chaotic acceptance speech

The actor won the award for lead actress in a musical or comedy series for Schitt’s Creek and her husband, production designer Bo Welch, tried to recreate some of the real-life ceremony atmosphere by playing painfully loud music from his phone.

Jeff Daniels giving zero f**ks about his background

Basically every single Zoom outro

Just before an ad came on, the cameras would cut to the stars chatting away from wherever they were in the world. With people talking over each other and some mics muted, it was hellishly awkward.
