Super Abari game bar’s new Charlotte home is coming along. Here’s what we know.

Super Abari is inching closer to its new life.

Abari Game Bar closed its location along the border of Charlotte’s Villa Heights and Optimist Park neighborhoods during the height of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, due to redevelopment.

And then earlier this year, owner Zach Pulliam announced plans to open Super Abari Game Bar in the Belmont neighborhood.

He told CharlotteFive on Thursday afternoon that he is excited for the new location — very close to Sweet Lew’s BBQ and Ace No. 3 burgers. “It’s a pretty cool location and we are going to have a larger game floor, a more intimate bar space, and a large patio. So lots of upgrades, hence the whole Super Abari. It just made sense to call it that as it’s an upgrade and the ‘next gen’ Abari.”

Now, the only question is when the popular arcade bar will reopen. “While there is a tentative schedule for the build out, we do not have a date set in stone for opening. However, Q1 of 2022 is looking hopeful,” Pulliam posted on Facebook.

“It’s bittersweet. I hate that I am having to go through this whole process again, but I am wiser this time around,” he told CharlotteFive. “It’s nice to improve upon everything with what I learned from the original location.”
