Summer kickoff: Oceans of Fun, KC spray parks and area pools open for Memorial Day weekend
Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching and that can mean only one thing: The swimming pools are open.
The weather’s expected to be at optimal swimming temperatures in Kansas City this weekend. Take a look at what’s going to be open for the summer.
OCEANS OF FUN
Worlds of Fun is already open for the season, and on Saturday the water park will be open for business. They’ll kick off the season with a 40th Anniversary Beach Bash, featuring a live DJ, a live chalk muralist and more. The first 700 guests into the park will receive a special giveaway on Oceans of Fun’s opening day.
All your favorite water attractions will be open, including:
Constrictor, a double tube slide featuring four 360-degree turns
Riptide Raceway, the world’s longest mat racing water slide and Oceans of Fun’s newest addition
Surf City Wave Pool, with huge waves every 10 minutes
The park is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this weekend and on Memorial Day on Monday. It will be closed for the weekdays following, but will open back up on June 4 for the same hours and stay that way until Aug. 8.
After the week of Aug. 8, the park goes back to weekend hours. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday after until Labor Day, which is the final day of the season.
You can check the calendar for more information on the times the park will be open.
