Suicide Squad Might Get Two More Spinoff Films

You would have thought that following the tepid response to ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Warner Bros might proceed a little more cautiously with their DC Extended Universe.

But the studio are so confident that ‘Suicide Squad’ is going to be a smash hit that they’re now reportedly developing 2 more spin-off films, which will revolve around The Joker (Jared Leto) and Boomerang (Jai Courtney). This comes shortly after it was alleged a solo Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) film is also being worked on.

According to We Got This Covered’s unnamed source the studio are actually considering the future of the entire Task Force X, but they’re mostly interested in Joker, Harley Quinn, and Boomerang spin-offs.

“The Joker is a definite possibility for a spinoff, and Jared [Leto] seems up for it from what I’ve been told,” the insider explained. “They’re also really hot on Jai Courntey’s character Boomerang right now.”

The source admitted that nothing concrete has been figured out just yet, but he was confident enough to predict that we’re “definitely going to be seeing a lot more of these guys in the years to come.”

At the moment though the best plan is probably to wait and see how moviegoers actually react to ‘Suicide Squad’ before we start imagining where these possible films could take the characters, as well as the type of disgusting gifts that Jared Leto might get for his co-stars if a solo Joker film is ordered.

There’s a lot riding on ‘Suicide Squad’, as Warner Bros look to repair the reputation of their DC Extended Universe following the critical mauling of ‘Batman V Superman’.

We’ll get to see if it can do just that when ‘Suicide Squad’ is finally released in the UK on August 5.
