Succession star Sarah Snook unveiled her baby bump at the show's fourth season premiere.

The Shiv Roy star attended the HBO series premiere in New York with the rest of the cast and her husband, Australian comedian Dave Lawson, last night (March 20).

Clad in a black jumpsuit and flowing silver cardigan, Snook cradled her baby bump, revealing she and Lawson are expecting their first child. The couple began dating in 2020 and married the following year.

The star returns in the role of Shiv for the fourth and final instalment of HBO hit show on the scheming Roy family, also comprised of media mogul patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and siblings Roman (Kieran Culkin), Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Connor (Alan Ruck).

At first, Snook was hesitant to take on the role of Shiv, Logan's only daughter.

"When I first got offered the role, I said no, because of that," she told Variety last year.

"If the world is going to be interested in a bunch of white dudes talking about business, and if I'm the only woman in that, then I'm likely to get sidelined and be like some sort of prop.

However, the star reflected on how to turn the role into "an opportunity to just fight for female characters" and ended up saying yes.

Succession also stars Matthew Macfadyen in the role of Shiv's fiancé and then husband Tom Wambsgans, an executive working for Roy's company. The cast is rounded out by Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun, Peter Friedman and Natalie Gold.

Speaking about the show bowing out with its fourth chapter, creator Jesse Armstrong said he consulted with the writing team, ultimately deciding to "go out sort of strong" and calling it quits.

"The decision to end solidified through the writing and even when we started filming, I said to the cast, 'I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is it'. Because I didn't want to bullshit them," he told The New Yorker in February.

Succession returns on March 26, 2023 on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
