Masimo taps Becton Dickinson executive Katie Szyman as CEO (Jan. 21)
(Reuters) -Masimo named Becton Dickinson executive Katie Szyman as its top boss, the medical device maker said on Tuesday, months after longtime CEO and founder Joe Kiani was ousted in a bitter proxy battle with Politan Capital Management. Szyman, who currently serves as president of Becton's patient monitoring unit, joined after the company last year acquired Edwards Lifesciences' critical care division, which she had headed. "We see this as a satisfying conclusion to the search for former CEO Joe Kiani's successor as Masimo transitions back to a pure-play healthcare company," said BTIG analyst Marie Thibault.

On "Farmtok," agriculture gets its moment in the spotlight. What would it mean if that disappeared?
Zoe Kent hopes people get a little joy out of her talking about farming on the Internet. On Instagram and TikTok, under the handle “farmwithzoe,” Kent films herself putting on boots to load corn into a massive truck bed, posts memes about the price of grain and documents just about everything else about farm life from getting rocks stuck in her equipment to eating lunch on long days out in a combine. Now, the future of TikTok — and “Farmtok,” as some creators call the ecosystem of farm-related influencers online — has become more uncertain, thanks to a ban the U.S. government briefly implemented on TikTok over the weekend.

Sabadell's return would be a boost for Catalonia, regional leader says
MADRID/BARCELONA (Reuters) -A possible move by Spanish bank Sabadell to return its headquarters to Catalonia would be a boost for the region after years of political turmoil, Socialist regional leader Salvador Illa said on Wednesday. Sabadell will discuss moving its legal headquarters from Alicante at a board meeting this afternoon, it said, having cited the bank's importance to the regional economy as a reason for investors to reject a hostile takeover bid from rival BBVA. If Sabadell returned its legal headquarters to Catalonia, it would be the first big company to do so after thousands left in the wake of a failed independence bid in October 2017.

Dutch Kitesurfer Lasse Walker Jumps Over Plane
Dutch Kitesurfer Lasse Walker Jumps Over Plane. Kitesurfer Lasse Walker achieved a stunning world-first as he jumped over a low-flying plane piloted by Red Bull Air Race star Łukasz 'Luke' Czepiela at Dolphin Beach, Cape Town. Of his stunning feat, Walker said, "I was flying back from America and we had headwinds during the flight, and I actually came up with the idea: if a slow plane is now flying against the wind, I can jump over it.” Preparations involved thousands of jumps with measurement devices to guarantee consistent clearance. On the day, perfect conditions saw Walker use a well-placed wave to jump 15 metres above the water, soaring over Czepiela's low-altitude plane in a flawless display of skill and timing. Walker said: "We had the perfect kicker and timing. Luke was flying low, I jumped over, did the loop with my kite, and looked straight down into the cockpit. Everything came together.” Czepiela, battling wind gusts of over 50kph, held the plane steady despite challenging headwinds. He said: "You're trying not to stall it, and the aircraft is not very manoeuvrable. Then I look to the front, and there's a dude on the water with a kite above him. He pulls and flies over the plane. It was very surreal.”
