Kim Kardashian Promised to ‘Find’ Kate Middleton—And Fans Had Mixed Reactions to the Joke

Kim Kardashian is done lawyering and is ready to try her hand at investigative journalism. Okay, maybe not, but she is clearly just as curious about Kate Middleton's whereabouts as the rest of the internet.

In case you haven't been online in a minute, the internet has been concerned about the Princess of Wales for the past couple of months, as she's has not made a public appearance since Christmas. In January Kensington Palace announced that Middleton underwent a “planned” abdominal surgery and would be taking a step back from royal engagements until the end of March. However, the conspiracy theories continued to spiral after a Wales family portrait released on March 14 was removed from multiple photo agencies over “manipulation” concerns, which the Princess of Wales later took the blame for on X.com. Now many don't even trust the grainy paparazzi shot of her that has since been released by tabloids.

Royals

It’s lightened but not manipulated.

So where does Kim Kardashian come in? On March 16 the 43-year-old reality star shared some throwback photos of a ’fit from 2022, when she was still rocking honey blonde hair and dark roots, but the caption kept the post firmly in 2024. “On my way to go find Kate,” she wrote below the slideshow.

This comes after Blake Lively faced backlash for her own post that fans felt was “mocking” Middleton's situation. “I’m so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products,” Lively captioned an obviously photoshopped ad for her mocktail brand, Betty Buzz. “Now you know why I’ve been MIA.”

The majority of Lively's followers were very “disappointed” by the post, though Kardashian's comments section was far more mixed (perhaps because her feed sparks some sort of scandal practically every other day). “The world is divided into two groups. Those who are living for and those who are loathing this caption,” one user noted. They personally thought Kardashian was “mother” for it.

On the negative side, many commenters pointed out that Kardashian's own family has often stepped away from the spotlight for personal reasons, so she should show some more compassion toward Kate Middleton. “It’s not like people from your fam [haven't] gone into hiding (rightfully so) during pregnancy or other medical reasons,” wrote one user. “This caption isn’t it.”

As for the rest, well…people love mess. “Pls find her and report back that she is alive and well,” one user played along with a prayer-hand emoji. Another thought it was hilarious, writing, “Is Kimmy… trolling Kate Middleton 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.”

Meanwhile, one observer commented, “Omg that caption is going to stir up so much more drama.” That was probably the whole point.

Eating the Rich

“There's people that are dying, Kim.”
