Strictly Come Dancing's Layton Williams apparently "wasn't surprised" by being in last weekend's dance-off.
Joining presenter Fleur East on spin-off programme It Takes Two yesterday (November 28), he admitted that the judges' feedback prepared him for what was to unfold.
"I'm not gonna lie, I was lowkey expecting it after the judges' comments so I wasn't exactly surprised," said Williams.
"Obviously it's disappointing when that happens. It was a lot. I totally get it, as soon as I had a little moment, a pep talk [from Kuzmin], I had 10 minutes in my dressing room... then my game face was on. Let's do this."
Sitting beside his celebrity partner was Kuzmin, who recalled of that pep talk: "I told him to do the same thing he did before and calm down… just do the same thing you did before, be calm, don't make mistakes.
"The adrenaline will give you the push, your game will be elevated anyway as you feel like everything is at stake. You're all in so give it your all."
Williams addressed Sunday's (November 26) result on social media in the immediate aftermath, too.
"That was close!" he wrote. "SO grateful to be through to Musicals Week! Being in the bottom two has given me a up my [fire emoji] up my [peach emoji]. Big love to all of our supporters."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
