In case you missed it, Strictly fans went into meltdown over the weekend over a moment in Katya and Adam's dance, when they seemingly leaned in for a kiss. "Did Adam just go to kiss Katya and then remember they’re on TV?!" one person wrote, while another put, "Adam Peaty that linger looked very suspect. Hmmmm!"

Since then, Adam has spoken out to play down the "gossip", writing on Twitter, "My favourite dance so far thank you to everyone who has sent supporting messages! I loved it. To everyone who wants to see what they want, your comments have real life consequences. I will not be overcome or lowered by your gossip. Protect your energy."

His girlfriend Eiri, meanwhile, made a TikTok which read, "Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live TV... Finding out 10 million people also watched it live" with the sound of a crying baby.

Now, Katya has touched on their chemistry in a new interview with Hello! magazine, explaining, "I’ve worked with athletes before and they’re always prepared but I remind Adam that everyone else is doing 40 to 50 hours a week too and putting in 100 percent and it really shows.

"It’s not just about the steps and hard work; it’s also the connection and the feeling you leave people with. You don’t just do the steps; you’ve got to perform them."

Greg added, "As a solo athlete, I’m still getting used to having a partner and that has been a very eye-opening experience."

Katya split from husband and fellow Strictly professional Neil Jones in 2019 after 11 years together. Adam and girlfriend Eiri Munro, share a one-year-old son, George-Anderson, and have been together since 2020.
