Stranger Things cast wants final season to go out on a high note — just like Schitt's Creek

Stranger Things cast wants final season to go out on a high note — just like Schitt's Creek

This year brought word that not only would season 4 of Stranger Things be split up into two parts, but the impending season 5 would be the last for the show. The cast ultimately thinks it's a good thing the endgame is landing where it is because they want to go out gracefully like Schitt's Creek.

That comparison comes during EW's installment of Around the Table with Stranger Things stars David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Brett Gelman, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Priah Ferguson, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink.

"I think it's good the show goes out on a high note," Gelman starts.

"Yeah! Like Schitt's Creek," replies Ryder.

Everyone else chimed in to echo that sentiment, even if it was a joke. "We're the Schitt's Creek of Netflix," Wolfhard declares.

The actor behind Mike on the show explains they never really knew how long Stranger Things would go for. The cast thought season 1 would be it before it got popular, then they heard about season 2. That's generally how they treated each season until news finally broke that season 5 would mark the series finale.

"It's been going for a while and [series creators] the Duffer Brothers, they want to end it in a perfect way," Wolfhard says. "And I think five [seasons] right now is what they're thinking."

Stranger Things premieres the first part of season 4 this Friday on Netflix. With Eleven (Brown) off in California trying to regain her powers and Joyce (Ryder) off to Russia to save Hopper (Harbour) from a prison, the kids back in Hawkins are facing a new evil, one that might explain what everyone thinks the town is cursed.
