Stormzy’s sockless Issey Miyake look is relaxed winter dressing at its best

With his new album ‘This Is What I Mean’ released on November 25, Stormzy is out of the studio and into the public eye promoting.

Last night, while filming an Amazon Music TV programme at Queen Elizabeth Hall, the rapper gave a lesson in elevated loungewear, as he opted for Japanese label Issey Miyake’s matching pleated hoodie set.

The coordinating look from the brand’s Homme Plissé line came dark burgundy, with structured sleeves, and split trouser legs which gave the simple outfit sophisticated style touches.

It is a good lesson to learn as we settle into this festive period – loungewear looks can work outside the house, if efforts are made to show a little thought (no grubby grey trackkies, please). Stormzy does prove, you needn’t be afraid to go comfortable with a going out look.

His finishing touches included a bulky Patek Philippe watch with a rose gold face and supple brown leather strap, and plain white leather trainers which he wore without socks. The question is, would you dare to rock a tracksuit this party season?
