Stockton PD: Officer shoots at man who pistol-whipped woman

Stockton police said on Tuesday afternoon that they shot at and took into custody a man accused of pistol-whipping a woman and later got into a standoff with officers. Officers shortly after 1 p.m. first went to a home in the 9300 block of Fox Creek Drive after getting calls about a man striking a woman with a firearm, the Stockton Police Department said. At that home, officers found a woman with visible injuries from being hit in the head with a gun. While there, the police department said the armed man ran out of the house and jumped several fences before getting on a roof. As he got off the roof, a Stockton officer confronted the man and fired his gun at him.
