Steven Seagal Lugs Watermelons In Bizarre Photo-Op With Belarusian Leader

Much like Baby in ‘Dirty Dancing’, if there’s a watermelon that needs carrying, Steven Seagal will be on it in a snap.

And now, pleasingly, we have these shots of him appearing to be helping out Belarusian premier Alexander Lukashenko on his allotment.

The action movie veteran and friend of Vladimir Putin was invited to the president’s residence, north of Minsk this week.

Dressed in his trademark Asian-style collarless shirt and orange-tinted specs, he was also treated to a carrot.

The baffling photo opportunity in front of the Belaruisian media came, according to the president’s spokesperson Natalya Eismont, because Seagal ‘had long wanted to meet Lukashenko’.

The 64-year-old star of movies like ‘Under Siege’ and ‘On Deadly Ground’ reportedly has a ‘consultancy contract’ with a developer of online games based in Belarus.

Bizarrely, it’s not the first time that a celebrity has visited Lukashenko, described as being ‘Europe’s last dictator’, during harvest season.

Gerard Depardieu dropped in last year, and was given a lesson in how to use a scythe.
