Starbucks Created A Caramel Coffee Bomb Recipe And We’ll Never Drink Regular Coffee Again

The phenomenon of the "hot cocoa bomb" blew up so quickly overnight that it's almost impossible to remember what life was like before it. Iterations of the genius idea have made tea bombs, cocktail bombs, and more available online, and now Starbucks is getting in on the trend.

Starbucks published a caramel coffee bomb recipe that can be made using some of their at-home products. You'll want to pick up a package of the Starbucks brand caramel ground coffee and espresso roast to be used in your coffee bombs and will also need dark chocolate, caramel sauce, and hard caramel candies for additional toppings.

To make any sort of beverage bomb, having a silicone mold is a must, you can buy heart-shaped versions of the tool, but any basic shape will work too. From there, you'll want to melt your dark chocolate (or other chocolate of choice) at 30-second intervals until it can be easily poured into your mold. Starbucks also suggests using a pastry brush to fill the molds with chocolate to make it even easier. You'll want to chill the chocolate mold for a bit so that the chocolate can harden before you fill them with flavor.

Once the chocolate is cool enough, you'll want to fill half of the pieces with your ground coffees, caramel syrup, and caramel candies. This is the part where you can choose the ratio of coffee to syrup for your ideal drink. Starbucks said you can even use other add-ins like chocolate chips, caramel candy pieces, butterscotch chips, and even a splash of your favorite creamer if that's how you prefer your coffee.

After they're filled, you'll need to heat a skillet in order to melt the edge of the unfilled sphere halves so they can adhere to the filled halves. The final product will be a completed coffee bomb that can be drizzled with chocolate and can be stored in a cool place for up to a week. You can use it by dropping the bomb into heated milk. If you use creamer, be sure to enjoy it immediately to maintain freshness! You can check out the step-by-step recipe by Starbucks here.
