Star Trek: Picard star LeVar Burton "thrilled" to act with real-life daughter in season 3
Star Trek: Picard star LeVar Burton has revealed it was “thrilling” to work with his real-life daughter on the third season of the show.
The actor reprised his role as Geordi La Forge in a special guest capacity in the third and final season, and had the chance to work with daughter Mica, who played Alandra La Forge in a recurring role.

“It was great acting with Mica. I get to be not just a proud father in this regard, but also a fellow professional actor with my kid,” he told Metro. “There’s a great and grand tradition of second generation family members going into whatever the family business is, and I’m really thrilled to be able to provide a pathway for my own kid.”
LeVar first assumed the role of Geordi in 1987’s The Next Generation, and he revealed it was joyous to be able to return to the series: “For me, it was just being back together and hanging out and being on screen together,” he said.
“I think because our relationships are so much deeper and we’re all that much more seasoned as performers, the level of work was just really spectacular,” he continued. “So it was a double joy - coming to work every day and being with our friends and then getting in front of the camera and just throwing down really good stuff.”
LeVar wasn’t the only actor to reminisce about his time in the franchise, with Jonathan Frakes recently telling Digital Spy that he kept in touch with his castmates even before the reunion.

“I think the concept is that we hadn't seen each other and we'd have to catch up,” he said. “[But in real life] we have a group text and we've been friends for 35 years - we're like a family.
“We see each other all the time. We work together, we do the conventions together, we communicate, we have drinks, dinner and lunch together. So it was [more like] we just happened to be caught on set again.,” he added.
Star Trek: Picard airs on Paramount+, and UK viewers can also see the show on Prime Video.
