Stan Lee Wasn’t Entirely Happy With His Deadpool Cameo

Stan Lee’s Marvel movie cameos are a constant source of delight.

Obviously the 93-year-old wasn’t just going to pass up the opportunity to appear in 20th Century Fox’s recent ‘Deadpool’ adaptation. Especially since it saw the comic-book icon popping up in a strip-club.

Yet, despite his inclusion in the film, Stan Lee admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he wasn’t completely happy with his ‘Deadpool’ cameo, teasing that he wishes it had been longer.

“I wish I had spent more time in the strip club,” Stan Lee confessed. “They had me in and out too quickly.”

Stan Lee admitted that he still wants to appear in as many Marvel movies as possible, insisting that he still gets “a kick out of doing it” while “fans seem to like it” too.

In fact, Lee even joked that the reason these movies make so much money is purely down his cameos. I’ll let the great man himself explain why that’s the case:

“A man takes a girl to the movie, right? They’re watching the movie and they bend down to get some popcorn. In so doing, they miss my cameo. Now the movie ends, and they say, ‘My God, we missed Stan’s cameo!’ So what do they do? They run to the box office and buy two more tickets and see it again. That’s why the movies do so well, because of my cameos.”

You can’t argue with that sound logic, can you? Those of you that missed out on Stan Lee’s ‘Deadpool’ cameo can head back to the cinema to spot it, while at the same time contributing even more to its $497.6 million box office, right now, as the R-rated blockbuster is still dominating cinemas.

Meanwhile, Stan Lee will have a chance to top his ‘Deadpool’ cameo when the already greenlit sequel is released in a couple of years time.
