Four South Carolina football commitments continued their high school seasons this weekend.

Middletown quarterback Braden Davis, St. Joseph’s Prep Keenan Nelson, Southlake Carroll’s Landon Samson and Miami Central’s Anthony Rose’s teams advanced in postseason play, with three of those set to play for state titles.

With Gamecocks offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield looking on, Davis threw two touchdown passes in helping Middletown to a 33-15 win in the Delaware Class 3A playoffs. Middletown will play for a state championship next Saturday (Dec. 11) against Smyrna at 3:30 p.m at the University of Delaware.

Nelson had an interception as St. Joseph’s Prep defeated Garnet Valley 49-13 in the Pennsylvania Class 6A playoffs. St. Joseph’s will play Mt. Lebanon for the state championship at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 in Hershey Park. St. Joseph’s is going for its fourth straight championship.

Samson caught a touchdown pass as Southlake Carroll defeated Allen 47-21 in the Texas Class 6A Division I playoffs at North Texas. Southlake will play Duncanville in the semifinals next week. It is the second straight year Southlake is in the final four.

Samson had five catches for 54 yards. He came into the game with 39 catches for 698 yards and 12 touchdowns.

USC safety commit Anthony Rose and his Miami Central team defeated Baker County 54-21 in the Florida Class 5A playoffs on Friday. Miami Central will play Merritt Island for the state championship on Dec. 17. Rose hasn’t played since Oct. 28.
