Veteran point guard Trey Burke has played nearly 500 games with five teams over nine NBA seasons. Now, he has found a new home with the G League Stockton Kings.

Burke, who played 42 games for the Dallas Mavericks last season, is signing a standard G League contract with the Kings, a league source told The Sacramento Bee, confirming a report from HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

Burke, 30, joins a roster that already features Sacramento Kings two-way players Keon Ellis and Neemias Queta along with D.J. Steward, Jordan Ford and Chima Moneke, who is in Stockton on assignment.

Burke came out of Michigan as the No. 9 pick in the 2013 NBA draft after being named national college Player of the Year. He spent three seasons with the Utah Jazz, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2014 after averaging 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists.

Burke also had stops with the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Mavericks.

Burke has appeared in 498 NBA games, posting career averages of 9.6 points and 3.1 assists. He last played for Dallas, where he averaged 6.6 points in 62 games in 2020-21 and 5.1 points in 42 games in 2021-22.
