Before I started working from home in 2020, I basically never wore sweats. I would sometimes wear leggings to run errands on the weekend, but ultimately, I loved my jeans – I basically lived in them.

Fast forward 18 months, and I’m a whole new person. Now, I live in sweats. My morning getting-dressed routine consists of putting on a semi-nice top for video meetings that day and slipping into loose, soft sweats on the bottom. TBH, I’m loving my new life!

Given that I’ve been wearing sweatpants basically every day for more than a year, I’ve tried a lot. That said, the pair that I reach for most often and always tell people about might surprise you. My absolute favorite pair is the L.L.Bean 1912 Sweatpants.

Now, I know L.L. Bean isn’t a brand that gets a lot of coverage for being “cool,” but the one thing they are known for? Exceptional quality. And that’s why these sweats stand out. They are amazingly soft, right from the first time you put them on. And when you wash them? They just get better.

When it comes to fit, I really appreciate that the L.L. Bean 1912 sweatpants aren’t super tight like some joggers tend to be, but they’re also not massively oversized. Instead, they’re just a little bit baggy but still flattering.

These L.L. Bean sweats are reasonably priced at just $49.95, which really is a steal considering the quality is just as good (if not better) than what you get from other “top” athleisure brands. On the flip side, yes, they’re more expensive than something you might find on Amazon, but do you like the idea of throwing away something you only wore once because it fell apart in the wash? I can speak from experience; that hasn’t happened with my L.L. Bean sweats, and I’ve had them for over a year.

As the temperatures start to drop, you’ll definitely need some comfy, cozy sweats in your wardrobe rotation. These are worth every penny, so buy yourself a pair now before they sell out when the weather actually gets cold.
