Snowman? Nope, just cold temperatures, light wintry mix for many North Texas counties

Chances are good that many North Texans won’t be building snowmen in the next few hours.

But it will be cold and Fort Worth could see some light rain Wednesday night.

The best chances for a rain/snow mix will be Wednesday afternoon in counties to the north and northwest of Fort Worth, according to officials at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

“We will probably seen light rain or some sprinkles,” said meteorologist Bianca Garcia at the NWS in Fort Worth on Wednesday, referring to Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

For Wednesday, there is a low potential for wintry precipitation in counties to the north and northwest of Tarrant County, according to the NWS in Fort Worth.

Wintry precipitation amounts are expected to be light with no significant travel impacts expected in those areas, where temperatures will stay in the lower 40s on Wednesday. The Thursday morning temperature is predicted to be 27.

For Tarrant County, the high temperature should reach 48 on Wednesday.

The light rain should start falling Wednesday night in Tarrant County, if any at all, and Fort Worth residents should wake up to temperatures in the lower 30s on Thursday.

The forecast for Thursday through Sunday in Tarrant County is mostly dry with a gradual warming this weekend. Daytime temperatures this weekend will be in the mid-60s.

Rain chances return Sunday night, and those chances will stay around for several days in North Texas.
